Selection of New Materials For the Health and Career Education Collection
The resources to support the Health and Career Education Collection for Grade 6, both student and professional resources is quite scarce. There are very few resources that would allow Grade 6 teachers to deliver the program with any kind of depth. In an effort to update and strengthen resources, a focus on purchasing materials for this curriculum was done. The first resources that I focused on was from the recommended resources from the IRP document. Several of these were professional resources and the rest were a variety of media. Secondly, I used two print journals and several online book review sites to select materials that would support the curriculum.
The following table are the resources that I believe would support the curriculum. I have included reviews for 16 items. The total cost of the resources is $1307.31.
